Redesign of Global Portal serving as platform to 90,000 users worldwide to access different content and collaborate with cross functional team and different locales.
My Role
Coordinated and led all phases of design including: Information Architecture, User task flows, Scenario, Storyboard, Interaction design, Prototyping, User testing and Visual design.
Customer Problem
- Cluttered user interface caused difficult to find relevant information and discouraged users to spend more time on the site, leading to lower engagements.
- Confusing navigation and non-intuitive menus made to harder for users to navigate
- Lack of visual hierarchy
- Power users managing multiple locales didn’t have a easy way to switch between different locales
- Lack of a robust search to find relevant contents quickly
- Not supporting lower resolution (640px) and mobile devices.
Objectives
- Clean & appealing layout for easier navigation
- Content grouping & visual hierarchy to give a clutter free, simple & intuitive browsing experience./li>
- Better readability and engagement through good visual design, typography, layouts
- Advance Search to find relevant content quickly
- Support all resolutions starting from 360px (Responsive Design)
- Active user engagements on the site

Results
UAT was performed starting with 9 users from each Business unit within US. In the second round, we recruited 12 more users from Sales & Service,
In the third round we recruited 9 users from Marketing, Training

We ran UAT on 30 users in 30 days covering all user groups and different locale. At the end of 2 months, we had rolled out the new site to 1500+ users and we saw a 43% of active engagement from the users.
